Behind the business
A note from Deidre Whitton.
'I have owned my own business for nearly 26 years and during that time I have envisioned my dream salon, which is where Genre Hair began! I enjoy working in a big space where natural light streams in and we can open the windows in the summer. I am as passionate today as I was when I started. Education is a huge part of how I keep current, and I continue to involve myself in all the education I possibly can. Exciting my clients with new trends in cutting and colouring is what I love about hairdressing and working along side our amazing team at genre makes going to work an absolute pleasure!
An extensive consultation is my key to success. I find out the history of my clients hair, likes and dislikes, styling preferences and educate them on what would be best to use on their hair at home so they can re-create the look I have given them. I like colour to look natural and not too forced. The condition of the hair is my top priority and I will not hesitate to give honest advice.
I have entered and judged many hairdressing competitions in my time, and really enjoyed this stage in my hairdressing career. It was a pleasure to work along side State, National and International judges.
